Forests and communities in transition

Erin is a Research Associate in the Department of Wood Science at UBC.  Within the AdapTree project, she is the  the coordinator of the social and economic components.  Her current research focuses on sustainability, impact assessment and community engagement.  Specifically, she is interested in integrating resource-dependent communities’ interests into land management decisions. Her MSc research addressed engaging First Nations in cumulative impact assessment and her ongoing PhD research focuses on social impact assessment.   She also works for “Forests and Communities in Transition” in the Faculty of Forestry and the “UBC University Industry Liaison Office” focusing on knowledge mobilization and commercialization.
